Emma Clara Dean Baldwin

Mrs. Emma Clara Dean Baldwin was born to the late Jesse Howard and Lillie B. Jackson in Bullock County, Alabama on June 20,1949.  She was united in marriage to the late James Edward Baldwin.  She received her wings on Sunday, October 02, 2016.

     Funeral Services were held from the sanctuary of St. Luke Baptist Church, 411 Baskin Street, Union Springs, Alabama, Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Donald Cunningham delivered Words of Comfort. 

     The family received visitors at Poe's Memory Chapel Funeral Home Friday, October 7, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  

    

 

     At an early age, Emma accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. Sister Baldwin had a deep and abiding faith in God and was a very active member of St. Luke Baptist church, serving as President of the Mission, usher, secretary's assistant, a member of the church choir, advisor of the youth department, program coordinator, custodian and kitchen committee.  She graduated from Carver High School, Class of 1968.  She enjoyed her membership with the Ladies of the 80's Social Club. As a lifelong employee in the health care profession, Sister Baldwin was dedicated to helping and serving her "neighbor".  She retired as a nurse from the Bullock County Hospital.

       Sister Baldwin was the devoted mother to four beautiful daughters.  They adored her and she adored them. 

      Sister Baldwin leaves to cherish her  memories, her loving daughters: Sharon Dean, Dadeville, Alabama; Debra Dean, Jacksonville, Florida; Kimyatta Banks, Phenix City, Alabama; and Deidre (Celito) Hartman, Phenix City, Alabama; two (2) brothers: Howard (Lizzie) Johnson, Haines City, Florida; Jesse (Majorie) Howard, Chicago, Illinois; one (1) sister, Ruby (W.B.) Thurmond, Chicago, Illinois; mother-in-law, Velma Baldwin; Grandchildren: Jacquel Dean, Union Springs, Alabama; Jelisa Dean (Xavien) Lincoln, Alabama; Shareeta Lakes, Dadeville, Alabama; Kierra Baldwin, Phenix City, Alabama; Japera Goshea, Union Springs, Alabama; Nicholas Dean, Dothan, Alabama; Melnisha Thomas, Phenix City, Alabama; and Shakira Baldwin, Phenix City, Alabama; Great-grandchildren:  Jamicheal Ellis, Madelyn Beckham, Kinzley Baldwin, Melanie McKinney, and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, family, church members and friends.

     All funeral arrangements were entrusted to Poe's Memory Chapel Funeral Home.  Our sincere prayers and condolences are extended to the Baldwin family.
